Tianjin University has established partnership with more than 150 universities around the world, and student exchange has been implemented with more than 50 partner universities. The students from partner universities study at TJU (take major-related courses or do research) for one to two semesters and transfer back the credits earned. Tuition of your study in TJU will be waived on the basis of the exchange agreement.

For International students from non-partner universities of TJU, they are also welcomed to study as Visiting Student.

There are nearly 140 English-taught courses open to the exchange/visiting students. Meanwhile, Chinese Language courses are offered to help them learn basic Chinese.

Application schedule for Visiting/Exchange Programs

Fall-semester study: March 15 – April 30 (Exchange) / June 15 (Visiting)

Spring-semester study: October 15 – November 15 (Exchange) / December 31 (Visiting)

1. Student Exchange Program

Applicants to TJU shall be selected and submitted by their home institutions. Applicants are expected to
1).  Be nominated by a TJU exchange partner university.
2).  Meet the minimum academic "good standing" requirement of the host institution.
3).  Meet the Chinese language requirement of the program when necessary.

4). Once nominated, please complete an Online Application on our website according to the application schedule.

Tianjin University General Visiting Student Program

An international student wishing to study the undergraduate/postgraduate courses at Tianjin University for one month/semester/year but not for a degree may be recruited as a General Visiting Student.
