The major responsibility of Publicity Department of Party Committee of Tianjin University is to organize the news propaganda, ideological education, cultural construction and communication of the university. The aim of its work is to improve the cultural profile, raise its popularity and reputation, and strengthen the cohesion and cooperation among teachers, students, and alumni. The Publicity Department has five sections, including Ideological Theory Section, External Publicity Section, Editorial Department of College Newspaper, Radio and Television Production and Broadcasting Center, and  Section for the Construction and Management of the Network Culture. It studies and propagates major policies of the party and state, gives assistance to organizing theory study and reports on current situations and policies of center-group and middle-level cadres. Working around the central work of university, it makes publicity and reports through various platforms such as radio, television, newspaper and the internet. It is in charge of the daily update, construction and management of Tianjin University’s official microblog and Wechat platform. It carries out the investigation of campus culture regularly, and makes plans to construct campus culture; it is in charge of the Homepage Construction of Tianjin University’s official website in both English and Chinese, as well as the management and construction of campus websites.
