The Tianjin Research Institute of China Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy held its annual Academician Expert Consultation Meeting at Tianjin University's Peiyangyuan Campus.

The event brought together various leading experts and academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Tianjin government. The event was inaugurated by Wang Tianyou, Vice President of Tianjin University, with academician Ling Wen presiding over the consultation session.

The consultation meeting focused on the strategic integration of scientific and technological innovation within Tianjin's development framework. Key topics included the integration of Tianjin Port’s industrial and urban development through digital intelligence, and the Tiankai Park construction bolstered by the Tianjin laboratory system. During the presentations, academicians and experts engaged in detailed discussions, offering valuable insights and recommendations to advance these projects.

In his closing remarks, Tianjin University President Jin Donghan emphasized the significance of the experts' input, acknowledging its role in guiding the institute’s ongoing initiatives. He urged continued collaboration and expert support for Tianjin Research Institute’s strategic projects, underscoring Tianjin University’s commitment to building an open, innovative think tank platform for China’s engineering strategy.

The Tianjin Research Institute, founded in April 2018 under a collaborative agreement between the Tianjin Municipal Government and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, has made notable strides in advancing technological consultation and innovation. Since its inception, the institute has conducted 225 activities involving 475 academicians and fostered collaborations with 77 universities, institutes, and enterprises across 67 projects. With a recent cooperation renewal in May 2023, the institute is set to further contribute to Tianjin’s high-quality development by expanding practical partnerships in engineering science and technology.
