Tianjin University Celebrates 2024 Summer Social Practice Achievements

On December 6th, Tianjin University conducted its 2024 Summer Social Practice Symposium and Excellence Recognition Event on the Peiyangyuan Campus. The event was designed to enhance student engagement through shared experiences and to capitalize on the educational opportunities presented by post-practice reflections. Distinguished attendees included Vice Secretary of the Party Committee Han Qinghua, Secretary of the Youth League Committee Li Yi'ang, and various other faculty leaders and department heads.

Han commenced the event by congratulating the award-winning teams and individuals, and extended his appreciation to the teachers and students who dedicated their efforts during the summer social practice initiatives. He emphasized the vital role of social practice in moral and character education, describing it as an essential element of the new era's ideological and political coursework, and an effective way to cultivate young talents devoted to the national cause.

The ceremony included a video review that highlighted the extensive range of activities carried out by over 200 teams and nearly 3,000 participants. These teams engaged in diverse initiatives focused on new ideological practices, heritage conservation, innovation for China’s development, educational enhancements, and national unity.

Awards were presented to 26 outstanding practice teams, alongside recognition for 12 exceptional research reports, 25 excellent photographs, and 5 outstanding short videos.

In line with the Central Youth League's initiative, the University's Youth League Committee launched the "Youth Practitioners Plan," deploying exemplary students to grassroots government offices, communities, and corporations across various sectors to foster practical skills and support regional development.

During the event, three summer practice teams shared their experiences and insights. These presentations included exploring digital pathways for cultural heritage in the new era, enhancing understanding of marine environmental policies in Southeast Asia, and promoting agricultural innovation through cross-strait youth collaborations.

Tianjin University continues toleverage social practice as a dynamic component of ideological and political education, integrating practical experiences with theoretical coursework to guide students in blending personal ambitions with national objectives.
