Professor Chen Yongchuan, a mathematician, is a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was born in March, 1964 in Nanchong, Sichuan Province. He received his doctoral degree in Applied Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1991.
