Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education on Binhai Civil Engineering Structure and Security at Tianjin University was established on the basis of Tianjin civil engineering structure and new materials key laboratory which was one of the key laboratories of Project 211 and 985 of Tianjin University. It started to be built after the approval of education ministry in October, 2009 and officially opened to the outside world in January, 2014 since the acceptance of education ministry.
