TIPR and School of Science Talk about Cooperation

Recently, TIPR (Tianjin Institute of Pharmaceutical Research) team led by Huang Changjiang, Director of its New Drug Research Center visited Tianjin University’s School of Science and the two sides held a meeting to discuss future cooperation.

Li Zhen, President of the School of Science welcomed the TIPR visiting group and presented to them a general introduction to the School, especially highlighting how the the Department of Chemistry combines scientific research with practical application. President Li also briefly introduced the research directions of the teachers and their teams who attended the meeting.

Zhao Lili, Administration Manager of TIPR informed the attendees the basic situation of TIPR and its technical backbones.

The two sides then talked about talent exchange, undergraduate internship and joint training of postgraduates. They expected to cooperate more in the research and development of new drugs, optimization of synthetic routes, analysis of key steps and technological research. Then the attendees from both sides had one-to-one in-depth exchange.

TIPR,founded in 1959, is one of the national comprehensive medical research institutions. Today, it has eleven laboratories, including a state key laboratory. The scientific research of TIPR covers the fields of drug synthesis, pharmaceutical preparations, Chinese medicine pharmacy, modern biological pharmaceutical, pharmacological drug, drug safety evaluation, drug analysis and medical information. TIPR has also edited and published four core periodicals.

Up to now, TIPR has completed more than 200 national, provincial and ministerial level major scientific research projects, achieved more than 700 scientific research achievements, obtained more than 300 new drug certificates, clinical approval or production approval documents, won more than 300 international and domestic awards at all levels, and has nearly 500 authorized patents, many of which have won China Patent Award.
